On 5th July 2010 Stephen Williams tabled an Early Day Motion in the Houses of Parliament to recognize the success of this year's St. Paul's Carnival in Bristol, which he attended alongside thousands of Bristolians.
His Early Day Motion (EDM 398) reads as follows:
"That this House notes the resounding success of this year's St Paul's Carnival, held in Bristol on 3 July 2010, attended by an estimated 70,000 people who witnessed the colourful parade of 15 Bristol schools and many community groups, as well as many musical performances and culinary delights; and congratulates the trustees, staff and volunteers on another demonstration of the city's cultural and social diversity, allowing Bristolians and visitors alike the opportunity to have fun and experience different cultures through food, music and dance."
