Stephen Williams MP has attended the launch of Bristol's Year of Poverty and Social Inclusion at Bristol Cathedral. The campaign brings together many groups in the city that work with that work with marginalised and excluded communities. The Cathedral aisles were packed with stalls from over thirty city groups, dealing with issues such as debt, racism, homelessness, education and asylum.
Stephen said, "As Bristol West's MP, I and my staff help hundreds of people every year with problems. We are indeed fortunate in Bristol that there are many community groups who work to improve the lives of our fellow citizens. But our real political challenge is to bridge the far-too-many social divides that exist in Bristol."
