MP Visits Earth Sciences Department

Arenal Volcano of Costa RicaStephen Williams has visited the University of Bristol Earth Sciences department. He toured the department with Dr Alison Rust and met several of her colleagues, PhD students and undergraduates. Since his election in 2005, Stephen has taken part in the annual MP-scientist pairing scheme, organised by the Royal Society.

Stephen saw several of the experiments being undertaken by students researching lava flows by using syrup! He said, "I always really enjoy my visits to university departments. As well as meeting the students, I always learn something new!"
