Stephen Supports Young People Getting Back into Education, Employment and Training
Stephen Williams MP for Bristol West visited the Bristol Foyer, near Bristol Bridge. The Foyer provides not only accommodation for young people aged 16-24 but also enables them to access training courses. Residents stay at the Foyer for up to two years and then move on to their own house and hopefully a job or further education.
While at the Foyer Stephen presented a cheque from the Futures at Knightstone Foundation that will cover the bus season ticket of two residents, Rohan and Ross, in order for them to attend an electrician's course at Filton College.
Stephen said, 'I was delighted to see the good work being done by the Bristol Foyer, who along with other agencies and charities in the city such as Fairbridge, help young people to find their feet and get a new direction in life. Sadly, under the current government the number of young people not in education, employment or training has escalated, so there are still plenty of young people that need to be helped.'
