Stephen Williams MP wants to see action on regeneration plans for Westmoreland House
Stephen Williams MP for Bristol West tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM 1751) in order to press for a solution to the Westmoreland House site in Stokes Croft.
Stephen has criticised the Government's move to cut the budget of the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) which has meant that there is no longer funding to proceed with a rescue plan for the building. Stephen is dismayed that the SWRDA's plans to act with a Compulsory Purchase Order on the Carriage Works have now been shelved.
Stephen has twice spoken on SWRDA cuts and the way in which the Stokes Croft area has been impacted in House of Commons debates this month. Stephen has worked with local Lib Dem Councillors for years for a solution to this site and will continue fighting for its regeneration.
