Stephen Williams MP recently presented the Social Enterprise Mark to Bristol Wood Recycling Project for innovative businesses that socially or environmentally benefit the community.
Bristol Wood Recycling Project is a not-for-profit organisation that reclaims wood from the Bristol area, providing affordable timber and resources for the local community. In 2008 Bristol Wood Recycling Project recycled 350 tonnes of wood, providing timber and other goods to nearly 4,000 customers.
Stephen Williams MP commented "It was an honour to be asked by Bristol Wood Recycling Project to present the company with the Social Enterprise Mark. It just shows that businesses can work alongside the local community and make a positive social and environmental difference. I am pleased that many social enterprises in Bristol are now being recognised for their work, for instance, the Pierian Centre, whose award I was also pleased to present."
