Council Close Primary School

Commenting on last night's decision by the Labour-run City Council to close St George Primary School, Brandon Hill, Lib Dem MP for Bristol Stephen Williams said:

"The increasing population of Harbourside, Hotwells and the city centre means that more school places will be needed in this area in the coming years. This decision reflects the short-sightedness of the Council, who have no plan for how to deal with this increasing demand."

"It is disappointing that Labour seem intent on closing this historic local school purely for financial reasons, with no thought about the impact on the education of our children."
