Stephen Williams MP Launches NHS Survey

October 5, 2007 1:43 PM

SOS for NHSStephen Williams MP has, this month, sent a survey to all of his Bristol West constituents. The survey invites people to have their say on the state of the National Health Service. The NHS Inquiry, which is the largest survey of its kind every conducted in the constituency, is a part of the Liberal Democrats nation-wide SOS for the NHS campaign.

Stephen Williams commented:

'The response to the survey has been fantastic; already people are starting to send in their completed forms.'

'Like many people in our area I am worried about the way our Health Service is being run. Despite the phenomenal job being done by thousands of hard working health professionals and the billions of pounds of extra tax payers money which has been spent on the NHS over the past ten years, it is hard to see signs of the improvements we were promised - in many areas things are getting worse.'

'The government need to stop interfering in the management of our hospitals and let frontline health professionals do their jobs.'

'The Liberal Democrats would end the years of government waste and cutbacks to essential services. We want people to have more involvement in the running of their local health services by introducing elected Local Health Boards.'

'I launched this survey so that I can hear people's views and personal experiences on local health services. The NHS belongs to all of us and everybody deserves to have their say on how it is run.'

The survey is being delivered to all registered voters in the constituency. It is also possible to download the survey online from this website.

If you are a resident of the Bristol West constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
