Stephen Williams MP, Nick Clegg MP and Cllr Mark Wright meet graffiti artist Richard Minchin
Stephen Williams MP was joined by the Liberal Democrat shadow Home Secretary Nick Clegg MP to see a graffiti project aimed at breathing new life into an inner-city car park.
The MPs were met by graffiti artist Richard Minchin in a car park off Trenchard Street to view the work of Mr Minchin and young offender from the area. The young artists have been painting a mural was designed in a competition at Fairfield School in Horfield and will be painted over the existing 'tagging' to brighten up the car park.
Commenting on the project Stephen Williams said:
"I think this is a fantastic project. It provides a better atmosphere within the car park at a fraction of the £30,000 yearly cost of simply painting over the 'tagging'. It also provides an appropriate artistic outlet for these youngsters."
Gary Hopkins, Bristol City Council's cabinet member for the environment, and local councillor Mark Wright were also on hand for the visit.
