Stephen Williams MP being shown around Bishop's Knoll by employees of the Woodland Trust.
Stephen Williams emphasised the important work carried out by the Woodland Trust on a visit to Bishop's Knoll.
Bishop's Knoll, in Stoke Bishop, was given to the Woodland Trust when the stately home that was originally on the site was demolished to make way for flats some years ago. Now it is home to a huge variety of trees and wildlife and its network of footpaths can be enjoyed by the public.
Stephen Williams said "The work of the Woodland Trust and other similar organisations is very important in maintaining our green and pleasant land and ensuring that our cities are not ruined by over-development."
"Some of the trees here are literally hundreds of years old - they are national treasures which must be preserved for future generations," he added.
