Protesting over a telegraph pole

Westbury-on-Trym residents are unhappy about the unsympathetic siting by BT of a new telegraph pole on the approach to the parish church. Hilary Long of the Westbury Society pointed out that as well as spoiling the view of the church it had been placed outside the oldest house in Westbury village.

Prospective Lib Dem candidate for Westbury on Trym Trevor Blythe commented that "Although BT seem to have unlimited powers to

place poles wherever they want - in this particular case consultation would have been appropriate especially as it is in a sensitive conversation area".

An approach will be made to BT to see if it can be re-sited.
