Greenhouse gas emissions are still on the increase.

Stephen Williams has today slammed Tony Blair's record on the environment after new figures showed that greenhouse gas emissions have increased to their highest level since Labour came to power.

Britain is now in danger of missing it's Kyoto targets in spite of having a head start on many other countries.

"They talk the talk to desperately try and shore up their waning support," Stephen Williams said, "but when it comes to action they are all hot air."

In contrast Liberal Democrats are taking real action. Lib Dem controlled Chesterfield Council have recently won an award for their innovative use of solar power on council buildings. A Lib Dem government would be committed to a 50% renewable energy target by 2050, combined with a reduction in energy consumption of 75%.

"Too often we talk about how we generate electricity without thinking about how we can cut our use of it in the first place." Stephen said.

If you are a resident of the Bristol West constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
