Solving Bristol's transport problems is key to improving Bristol and the enviroment says Stephen Williams.

The Lib Dems today launched their manifesto for the Environment, setting out plans to protect and improve the environment - helping our pockets, our families, our communities and our world. Key Lib Dem Environment Policies focus on tackling climate change; a greener Treasury; tackling the long-term challenge of rising road transport emissions; cleaner power.

"Liberal Democrats believe that there should be a green backbone running right through Government," said Lib Dem Prospective MP for Bristol West Stephen Williams. "We need to start with firm action to tackle climate change, cut traffic congestion and give proper support to alternative fuel sources. A greener Britain means a better environment, and a better life for all," he added.

"Transport needs a big vision for the future. Labour understand the problems but has done nothing to tackle them. The tarmac Tories don't even want to understand them and would just concrete over our green spaces with more and more roads. Only the Liberal Democrats would create a safe, reliable and affordable public transport system," Stephen concluded.

If you are a resident of the Bristol West constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
